Downtime tonight at 10:30PM EST

Our web host has planned some downtime to migrate one of our servers to a more stable system. Therefore, Anyvite will be down for a short period starting at 10:30PM EST (3:30UTC) tonight. We’ll post back here if there are any changes. Sorry for the inconvenience.

On happier note, we’re in the process of finalizing and testing some new features for Anyvite that should make it up in the next few days. Exciting things are ahead!

A bit of downtime this afternoon

Just wanted to write a quick note to everyone. Anyvite experience a bit of slowness for a good part of the afternoon (EST). Our database server started getting behind causing queries to lag which started a chain-reaction of sorts. So at about 4:35pm we took the site offline for 10 minutes while we upgraded the database server and implemented some fixes. The site came back up at around 4:45pm and has been running well since then. We apologize for the downtime and general slowness.

The good news is we learned a few things about how the site behaves under load and what we need to do to improve. We already have many updates ready for our next update!

Let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

Broken Site Today

Some of you may have noticed that Anyvite did not look “quite right” (read broken) for a portion of the day today. The reason for this was that the service we use for hosting some key files for the display of the site went down, and without those files, the site appeared broken. We just had to flip a switch though and enable the backup files and everything was right as rain, but we wanted to apologize to everyone who came to the site and found it to be unreadable. If there is anything we can do to make it up to you, please let us know.
