Hosted By:   Philip Dodds

Main invitation image
We are very excited to have Grant Ingersoll coming in October to introduce the concepts of search and text analysis. In difficult times opportunities to learn new technologies, approaches and also sharpen the saw can be very valuable - also the JUG offers a great place to meet other developers, recruiters and businesses.

This month should be an very interesting meeting and once again provides an opportunity to see how new technologies can be applied to your current projects - or helps you understand the value in these approaches.

The location is the same as usual, and we will as always have refreshments available - thanks to our sponsers!

Abstract:
Ever wonder how you can add Amazon's faceting search capabilities to your website? What about Google's "Did you Mean" spell checking? Or maybe you want to automatically provide hot links to the names of people and places like Yahoo! Shortcuts do for news. Grant's talk aims to introduce you to the basics of search and text analysis in order to enable the creation of smarter applications, all while using freely available, Java-based libraries.
