Presentation: Open Source Software in Business

Abstract: Open source software underpins critical functions in many businesses. The presenter will share his experiences in open source development, including Linux and PostgreSQL, and other infrastructure software. He will talk about the open source development approach and its commercial benefits.

Speaker: Bala Varadarajan is the Managing Director of Fujitsu Australia Software Technology (FAST). He has 25 years of industry experience, most of which has been related to development of software solutions using emerging technologies, and a Master's degree in Management.

The meeting is held downstairs at the premises of Atlassian (map) from 7pm, however we gather from 6:30pm across the road at The Shelbourne Hotel.  Members and visitors are both welome.

SAGE-AU was formed in 1993 to advance the profession of System Administration by raising awareness of the need for System Administrators, and educating in technical as well as professional issues.  The NSW regional group meets on the 3rd Tuesday each month.
