South Coast Revit Users Group
Hosted By: Jay Holland
Colleagues,
The South Coast Revit Users Group has been re-launched! The re-inaugural SCRUG meeting will be held at KTGY Group, Inc.
Brookfield is the unequivocal leader among homebuilders who have embraced Building Information Modeling. Louis Navarrete will share an expanded presentation, “An Owners Perspective on BIM” , which will include the MWF* Framing extension for Revit.
In addition, there will be a presentation of some of the projects underway at KTGY Group, with some emphasis on the development of BIM standards for single and multi-family housing.
*MWF is a framing extension that recognizes Revit components and automatically generates Stud and joist arrangements, panel numbers, sheathing, shop drawings, Cut List and CNC output.
I am pleased to announce that all of our former sponsors have agreed to continue supporting the SCRUG. Victuals and refreshments are provided by their generosity.
Kelar Pacific - Microdesk
ProGroup - U.S. CAD
Also thanks to KTGY Group for hosting this re-inaugural meeting.
~~~
I retired from the leadership of the group in June of 2011. Due to attrition, the economy and other variables, what once was the SCRUG evolved into an extension of the Los Angeles Revit Users Group. Because of recent developments, primarily in the homebuilding industry (which is my current focus) I have decided to re-launch the SCRUG with a meeting this month.
I appreciate the efforts of Brian Andresen, Ann Laughlin, Jay Zallan, Troy Gates and others who have become involved, and of course the sponsors. U.S. CAD, Kelar, MicroDesk, ProRepro. Ideally, all the Southern California groups will continue to collaborate on special events and presentations, and members of those groups are always welcomed at our meetings. At SCRUG we will continue to encourage and promote presentations by local group members.
Bummed I won't be able to make it this month for the re-inauguration of the SCRUG meetings. Thank you Jay for getting this up and running again and thank you to the resellers and KTGY who are stepping up also.
Three cheers for Jay!!!! Thank you for organizing this.
Any chance that future meetings can take place Wednesday night like the previous SCRUG's?
Cgeorge, IE-RUG meets on Tuesdays. LA-RUG meets on Wednesdays. The SCRUG meetings have always been held on Thursdays.
